ANTOINETTE SAYS……………………………..

WELCOME TO HER SITE

Actually, both Antionette’s, Marie Antoinette, friend of Madame Guillotine, and Antoinette Gregory, founder of Antoinette Costume Hire in the 1960’s, are no longer with us.

Instead, you have to make do with cheery Brian Parsonage Kelly, AKA Antoinette 4, who runs this bijou costume cavern in South London.

Antoinette Gregory was a fashion designer and costumier. She dressed well-heeled Londoners, for parties, and had a deal going with the local coach and horses outfit around the corner, whereby, once she had the made the finishing touches to her clients’ outfits as they stood in them, the carriage would await them, to whisk them off, to revel in the dizzy excesses of Belgravia or Kensington.

Now in the 2000’s we are less able to look stylish and less able to afford coaches and horses. Instead, are we “making do” with wearing a cheap nylon backless number and sitting in a stretch limo, full of our fellow screeching wannabes, on our way to some mediocre nightclub which sells cheap booze????

NOT NECESSARILY

Here, at Antoinette’s, we believe style can still count. We believe in dressing up, not down, and in learning the lessons of fashion through the Ages.

When you squeeze yourself through our door, you immediately enter another world. Costumes are everywhere, faces look at you, trinkets twinkle at you, Hollywood Stars of Yesteryear, look down on you, and classical music plinkety plinks in the distance.

Antoinette is about to weave her magic on you………………………………….
